Following this series of snapshots posts, here are some pictures of Leeds. It is another of the northern UK cities I am recently interested in. I’ve been a few times already and I really enjoy it. I don’t know much about surrounding neighbourhoods, but the city centre feels more alive than Sheffield‘s (this from my very limited experience of being there a few times). I like the modern architecture there, I like the art gallery, where I have seen a bunch of exhibitions I’ve enjoyed, like one of Peter Michel photographs, pictures of the city in the 70s and 80s, when the city looked way different than it looks now. The markets (they sell fish here!), shopping galleries, places to eat and drink, live music, it all looks great to me. It reminds me to a smaller sized London.
My daughter is there doing university and being closer to her is a strong reason to know more about this city. :)
