Happy new year and happy birthday to me!
From up north, to some pictures I took in the south. I liked the Isle of Wight. It feels somewhat isolated from the mainland (is there mainland in UK?). The ferry trip is not a long one, but I imagine folks living there must feel a bit apart, when wanting to go somewhere else. It is not a very big island really, though I think I still missed some spots. A colleague of mine went to live there, I believe. He mentioned it was very cheap, but sure that is not the only reason, the place is lovely.
I’ve been to the Isle of Wight a couple of times. One I went with a past relationship, many years ago. We enjoyed driving around and visiting some coastal villages. The second was with my daughter. I find it always interesting to see how different a place feels depending on whom you are with (or aren’t!).
