What a better plan for a Saturday than visiting a cemetery in Cambridge? This one was recommended by a friend, and there we went. I knew little (better said, I knew nothing) about it, but it looks like a lot of famous people are buried here. The list is just impressive. Thanks that the visit was during daylight and I was well accompanied.

” but it looks like a lot of famous people are buried here. The Friends of The Ascension Parish Burial Ground, lead by Chair : Diana Tapp, supported by Secretary: James Clackson, Treasurer: Pat Ingham, and the Historian/Archivist: Mark Goldie are doing a great job.

The work done by the late LUCY WALKER: “A Walk round the Parish Ascension Burial Ground” (fourth edition, 1994) and DR. MARK GOLDIE : “A Cambridge Necropolis” (March 2000) needs to be fully acknowledged as well. Contact Pat Ingham of the Friends if you need photocopies of either paper. Martin.
